MEMORANDUM FOR ALL JUNIOR RESERVED TRAINING CORPS UNITS

SUBJECT: Connecticut’s Governor Cup JROTC Drill Competition
You are cordially invited to participate in the first CT state drill meet at the University of Connecticut 12 April 2008. This meet is open to all JROTC units in the state of Connecticut who wish to attend. There will be one level of competition, and two categories, Armed & Unarmed.
The following are a schedule of events:
- Unarmed Flight Basic
- Unarmed Exhibition
- Unarmed Color Guard
- Unarmed Inspection
- Armed Flight Basic
- Armed Exhibition
- Armed Color Guard
- Armed Inspection
- 2 person Exhibition
- Knockout Drill
All schools will compete for the Governor’s Cup which will be given to the school’s team who accumulates the most points throughout the competition. The scoring system is as follows 10 pts for first, 8 pts for second, 6 pts for third, 5 pts for fourth, 4 pts for fifth, 3 pts for sixth, 2 pts for seventh, and 1 pt for eighth place all other places will not earn points in that competition. Only the schools first team will be allowed to earn points towards the cup. Example: If a school has 2 teams in an event and team 1 comes in 1st place and team 2 comes in third place only team 1 will score points toward the cup and those 3rd place points will go to the team in forth place and so on. But team 2 will still win the third place trophy.
We would like for you to attend this event. We feel that this would be a great experience for all who attend. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the attached entry form with the requested fee and return it to Cadet David Baker no later than 1 March 2008. The following guidelines are necessary to ensure your participation:
- Entry fee for this event will be $50.00.
- You must also send your schools Insurance forms along with the entry form & fee by the date stated above.
- You will be receiving the drill competition packet in the mail, as soon as your registration has been confirmed.
